Haiti – FLASH : 106 Haitians discovered locked in a container in Guatemala

Saturday, October 9, following a report regarding an deserted trailer at kilometer 114 of the street that results in Cocales Nueva Concepción Escuintla (Guatemala), brokers of the Nationwide Civil Police (PNC), after listening to cries and blows from contained in the container (TC007CBH), rescued a gaggle of migrants locked inside, stated Jorge Aguilar, spokesperson for the Nationwide Civil Police (PNC).
Aguilar, stated that contained in the container the police found 126 unlawful migrants, males, ladies and kids, together with 106 from Haiti, 11 from Nepal (South Asia) and 9 from Ghana (West Africa), who have been making an attempt to cross Guatemalan territory to cross into Mexico and be part of america.
Apparently they’d have been deserted by the “coyotes” (smugglers) they’d paid for the journey…
After rescuing them, the safety forces gave them humanitarian consideration after which took them to a refuge on the Guatemalan Institute for Migration (IGM).
In accordance with Alejandra Mena, spokesperson for IGM, the group of unlawful immigrants in an irregular migratory scenario might be expelled from Guatemalan territory and transferred to the border with Honduras as a result of it’s by means of this nation that they entered Guatemala.
